Asante originally hails from small-town Alberta, where his passion for storytelling was born. Now having been a resident of Toronto for over a decade, Asante continues his pursuit of the arts, being privileged enough to take part in numerous television, film, theatre and educational projects.
Such credits include the major motion picture “Stargate: Continuum”, the first ever staging of one of Tennessee William’s lost works “The Big Game”, an ad for Gillette, now in it’s 7th cycle, and coming off a successful 5th year as co-director and acting coach at Suite Life Arts for Youth. Asante is also a recent graduate from the prestigious Teacher Education program at York University as a history and drama major, and a proud new member of the Toronto District School Board. As a dedicated mentor,
artist and social activist, he is excitedly anticipating his future in acting and arts education.
When not teaching or performing, Asante spends his time reading, writing, seeing the world, training in martial arts, and composing music. Most recently, Asante has stepped behind the camera, donning the filmmaker’s hat, and with the help of several highly-talented fellow artists, has a few projects of his own on the way. Asante aspires to one day share his passions the world over, by teaching and acting on every continent
